ROOT CANALS
Root canals are the long passages full of soft tissue deep within the dentin of a tooth next to the pulp chamber. In dentistry, a root canal (endodontic treatment) is needed to cure infections in the root canal. If a an infection in the root canal is left untreated, it could lead to pain and ultimately the loss of the tooth.
Root canals are often the most feared procedures in all of dentistry, but with today's technology advances, it's relatively painless.
Dr. Gonick performs most root canals, but sometimes with refer patients to an endodontist.
